First, a shameless plug. I occasionally guest blog on
Stitching the Night Away and this weekend I wrote a three blog series, the first of which was posted today.
Next, some frustrations. I have this UFO. It should never have become a UFO! It's an ornament! Ugh!
Anyway, this ornament is three dalmatians wearing antlers which I shrunk to ornament proportions by stitching it on 18 ct. Aida.

I see it in my stitching basket and I pick it up to work on and then I remember why I quit working on it in the first place. It shouldn't be tedious and frustrating but it is! Maybe it's because the fabric is cut a bit small so it's hard to hold and it won't fit in my Q Snap. I don't know. Whatever the case, it was originally intended for Em and then I decided to make it for Zoe and now, I'm considering quitting on it and finding something else!

ReplyDeleteWhen I have a piece of fabric that's too small for my qsnap I stitch muslin to the sides to "frame" it so that it fits the snap.
ReplyDeleteThose little Disney ornaments always do my head in! Despite how many I've done and knowing what a pain they are, I always start a new one thinking "Oh, I'll do this because it won't take very long!", yeah, right!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually not Disney but I know what you're talking about! I've done several Disneys and they look deceptively easy. The Mickey Mouse I did for Zoe took FOREVER!
