Stitch from Stash B Wrap up

As many of you know, Mel from Epic Stitching has decided to discontinue Stitch from Stash for personal reasons.  I have enjoyed being a part of it from the very beginning, as my unemployment has caused me to limit my stitching purchases.  So, to wrap it all up, here is what I accomplished in the few months of SFS B.

Mel, if you are reading this, it's been fun and I totally understand you abandoning it.  See you around the blogosphere.

We'll ignore the money part as I was well under budget actually.

Stitch from Stash Update - October

Month: October
Total Spent: $23.15
Total Earned: $10
Carryover to November: $42.22

I noticed that I've only posted twice so far for October.  That has to be a record low.  This was a busy month with my mother coming to visit.  I got in a bit of stitching while she was here but not much.

I decided to take a break from Country Grace this month to do some ornaments.  I finished three although they still need to be properly finished for the tree.

I also worked on a UFO Ink Circles ornament I started last year.

Here's where Country Grace stands.  I'm not sure I'll finish it by Thanksgiving.

I have one new start.  There's not much to see.  Stitching over 1 on 32 count is a bit hard on the eyes.

As for purchases, I'm still paying on the Christmas book but I also went to Jo-Ann's last night and picked up this

Maybe now I have all the solid colored DMC colors.  I won't hold my breath though.

Stitch from Stash Update - September

Month: September
Total Spent: $0.00
Total Earned: $2
Carryover to October: $30.37

I can't believe it's already time for this update!  Time has flown, especially with me having some substitute teaching jobs to occupy my days.  I was very good this month and didn't buy anything either.

Here is my small start and finish that earned me the $2.

I also started a wedding sampler that I have decided to change the color scheme on it, so I won't post a picture.

I only did a little bit on Butterfly Rose Cross.

The majority of my time was spent on Country Grace.  I finished the solid crosses on the center medallion today and I just have to add the backstitches.

Stitch from Stash Update - August 2015

**Stitch from stash recorders!  I changed my blog name!  It used to be "Gadget's Joyful Page."**
Month: August
Total Spent: $60.65
Total earned: $10.00
Carryover: $3.37 (I think that's a record low for me)

I went on a bit of a spending spree this month, I'll admit.

But now sadly, I'm on a week's rest because my carpal is acting up.  It's so hard to resist the lure of string!

I had three quick starts and finishes

I also started "Strawberry Fields Forever"

And continued to work on my Butterfly Rose Cross

Stitch from Stash - July Update

Month: July
Amount Spent: $7.98
Amount Earned: $12

Stitch from Stash starts over.  Can't believe that July is almost over.  Soon, it will be school time again which will either mean that I get a break from the kids or I will start work.  Not sure which one yet.  I had a job interview today so we'll see.

I decided to make a change in how I do WIPs.  My WIP basket was full to bursting and I always had issues trying to choose what to stitch.  Meanwhile, I have an HAED and another solidly stitched piece that will take years of work and probably need to be worked on more.  So, I decided to pull one piece besides the two large pieces to work.  My current "wildcard" is "Jingle as Ye Enter."

I had two finishes:

Peace - The Stitcherhood
Do Not Meddle - Dragon Fire Designs - My oldest WIP!
And here is the work on my three WIPs

HAED - Butterfly Rose Cross
Snow White Discovers the Cottage

Jingle As Ye Enter - Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe

Stitch from Stash Update - June 2015

Month: June
Carryover from May: $124.83
Amount Spent: $133.52
Amount Earned: $20
Final balance: $36.31

I am posting this at 4 in the morning, not because I'm a night owl or anything.  My youngest wet the bed.  Still working out that kink.  Oh, well.

I did not think I would spend that huge balance but I did.  Went on a bit of a shopping spree at Silver Needle and Needle in a Haystack.  Incidentally, everything I bought is for Victoria Sampler pieces.  I've never stitched Thea before so this should be interesting  I just started on A Merry Little House last night.

All my finishes this month were small.  Here they are:

Candy Cane Horse - Charlotte's Collectibles
Double Sided Biscournu Ornament

Baptism Ornament

Tweet Gift - Full Circle Designs
Shining in the Night - SamSarah
See y'all next month for Stitch from Stash B!

Stitch from Stash Update - May 2015

Month: May
Carryover from April: $82.31
Amount spent: $2.48
Amount earned: $20
Carryover to June: $124.83

It's hard to believe it's time to report for May already.  The kids will be done with school two weeks from today.

I had three finishes this month.  My major finish was Fuji, which I have been working on since last May.

I finished one of the two ornaments I started last month with the Mill Hill beads I purchased.

Then I had the Berries needlebook which I started and finished in two days.  I made it for my mother who really liked it.

The only other WIP I worked on was Candy Cane Horse.  It is coming along nicely.

Next month is the last month is Stitch from Stash A.  I will probably do a WIP inventory versus my WIPs at the beginning of the year.  It should be interesting.  Still nothing on the job front so it's hard to say if I'll be stitching the fall away or working my tail off and stitching nothing.  Stay tuned.

Stitch from Stash Update - April 2015

Month: April

Carryover from March: $52.31
Amount Spent: $3
Amount Earned: $8
Carryover to May: $82.31

This Stitch from Stash update kind of snuck up on me.  I saw Mel's post and was like "is it that time already?"  I feel I didn't get a lot done this month but my husband took a week of vacation last week and there was a lot of running around and getting stuff done.  I finally got my front tooth rebonded so I have my smile back!

I spent a little this month.  I took a trip to SCRAP and picked up a few patterns and a piece of linen.  I don't know if I'll ever spent that carryover amount.

I finished a page on "Do Not Meddle"  This leaves me with only two pages to go and they are small pages.  For those of you who have read this piece's history on Stitching the Night Away, it is a rather old UFO which I started before I got married (and I've been married 6 years!).  My goal is to finish it this year.

I almost finished a page on Fuji.  There will be one really small page once I finish the current page.

As far a new starts, I have three.  I started Octopus's Garden which doesn't count as from stash since I just got the pattern.  I didn't stitch much of it.

I also started two ornaments.

The first one, I incorrectly labeled as "a partridge."  It's actually a Quail.  Ironically, I think my husband and I spotted a few quail on the road the other day.  This one is from A Cross Stitch Christmas A Heartwarming Christmas that came out last fall.  The blank spots are where some Mill Hill beads are going to go.

The second ornament is off my JCS DVD, from the JCS 2009 Ornament issue called "Candy Cane Horse."

Stitch from Stash Update - March 2015

Month: March

Carryover from February: $11.51
Amount Spent: $4.20
Amount Earned: $20
Carryover to April: $52.31

This month was a concentrated effort on three different pieces.  And I finished all three pieces.  Budget wise, I was fine.  Mostly because my husband bought me materials as an anniversary present.

The first piece was Yellow Submarine.  This did not earn me any "Stash cash" since I just bought the piece.  Oh, well.

The second piece was Lights of Advent.  This was an ornament I'd been wanting to do for awhile because for some reason, I don't see a lot of pieces with advent candles.  My husband gifted me the silk and I used some fabric from my stash.

The last piece is my Sunflower Sampler.  I have been working on this piece for over two years.  I finally finished it today!  This piece cost next to nothing as I got the linen for $1 at SCRAP and the fibers were all DMC.  I have a frame ready for it that I got for $3 at a thrift store.  All I need are some more stainless steel pins.

Stitch from Stash Update - February 2015

Month: February

Carryover from January: $25
Amount spent: $62.49
Amount earned: $24
Carryover to March: $11.51

This month was a bit hairy.  I had to make sure to finish some items in order to keep from going over budget.  I am liking that new feature in this version of SfS.

Progress on WIPs

Fuji at January update
Fuji at Feb update - 2 pages finished!
Sunflower Sampler at Jan update
Sunflower Sampler at Feb update (I would say that it's about 75% completed!)
Butterfly Rose Cross at Jan update
Butterfly Rose Cross at Feb Update
Country Grace at the end of 2014
Country Grace at Feb update
Do Not Meddle at Jan update
Do Not Meddle Feb update
I started and finished two ornaments that were in my stash.  Both are for Zoé's ornament box.

Catnip Christmas
Tigger Candy Cane Ornament
Mel encouraged us to visit other blogs after the January update, so I did.... AND IT MADE ME BUY MORE STASH!!!!  I saw the Blackbirds Designs Beatles series so the majority of my budget this month went toward that.

Yellow Submarine
