Year in Review, Part 3

Or, we could title this post, "Things I stitched that are not ornaments.

I did one major piece this year.  It had a lot of petite stitches which are fun to do.

I also did some "seasonal pieces" that I can put out with the changing seasons.

I also made some gifts for other people.

And then there's this piece that doesn't really fit anywhere else.

For next year, I don't really want to set a goal because I am not sure what will go on when I start student teaching.  I am hoping to get the God is Love piece done by February and all of Emily's ornaments done by April.

2013 Year in Review, Part 2

Part 2 of my Year in Review will feature things with yarn.

I decided to go into the world of ruffled yarn.

But I made some stuff with regular yarn too.

2013 Year in Review, Part 1

My goal for this year was simple: finish one ornament.  I far exceeded the goal this year.

Warning: Image heavy

This year was dominated by ornaments (obviously) for ornament boxes which I started in January.

Here are Emily's ornaments:

Here are the ornaments I made for Adele

And one for Zoe:

And I also did the lid for the ornament box for Emily

Sparkles

Here's a shot of Sparkles.  I needs some beads and buttons so it will have to wait for final finishing until I acquire them.

Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe

A package arrived for me today from Nancy at the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  I had won something from her a month or so ago and had decided to order something else.  I also won her surprise giveaway.

This is what I originally won, the "Jingle as Ye Enter"  It's been sitting in my stash pile.
And here's what came today:

This is what I ordered

This is what I won.  I especially like the Black Bird ornament.  I've been eyeing that one up.
I am almost finished with the snowman (or at least what I can finish minus the buttons and beads) and will post a picture tomorrow hopefully.

Merry Christmas!

Hello my friends.

I am glad I scheduled the giveaways in advance because I am sick as a dog.  The little ones have had a nasty gastrointestinal virus as well.  Today I am starting to feel better which is good because I had some major cleaning to do before the company comes over tonight.  Tomorrow we are going to have a "Jesus birthday party" for the girls since we don't do Santa.

I had a pretty good birthday despite being sick.  I started stitching something for myself.  It was a older Mosey and Me pattern that had been kitted up.  The only thing missing are some Just Another Buttons but those should be easy enough to replace.  It is on 10 ct fabric and uses metallic ribbon which I have not stitched with before.  Here's what it looks like so far.

Here is my present from Build a Bear:

With outfit.  I am totally making her more clothes
Here is some progress on the other pieces I am working on:

Some Progress

I found out last week that I am not going to be able to get everything I wanted to get done for Christmas in time for Christmas.

First, once I ordered that Just Cross Stitch DVD with all the issues from 2001-2010, I changed my mind on some of the ornaments for Emily's box.  This also meant I had to order some materials that I didn't have, including Fuzzy White stuff from Rainbow Gallery (and I found out that both 123stitch and ABCstitch don't carry it).  Second, the cottage I have been working on requires By Jupiter! charms (also not carried by those two stores).  I ended up ordering everything I needed from Needle in the Haystack in San Francisco.  The store comes highly recommended from Edgar of Blacksheep Blog so I decided to give it a try.  They were out of stock of a lot of stuff but are ordering it for me but I won't see most of it until late December or early January.  It's fine because I think I was running out of time to get everything done.

Honestly, I'm getting tired to ornaments so I'll shoot for Emily's birthday instead to get the remaining ones done.  I decided to do some more stitching on the cottage.

I am also starting a project that I am hoping to finish by February for my wedding anniversary.  Here's what it will look like:

I cut the linen yesterday.  It's 28 count Waterlily Linen

Ok, that looked a lot better before I uploaded it.  It's a light green.
I am also using some new-to-me fibers for this project:  Kreinik Silk Mori Milkpaint.  I hope to start stitching tomorrow.
