Not much going on

I've been busy working on a few projects and cleaning the house for Thanksgiving so I haven't stitched much.  I did chop off all my hair.  I'l have to post a picture later.

I had one finish, an ornament for the granddaughter.  Here's a picture.

Being Thankful

This year has given me many reasons for giving thanks, even though it started out kind of rocky.  I didn't do the daily give thanks posting scheme because that's a totally unrealistic expectation with all of my schoolwork.

  • I am thankful for my husband's job.
  • I am thankful for my TAA status which gives me extended unemployment and free schooling.
  • I am thankful for my laptop which gets my schoolwork done.
  • I am thankful for having a working vehicle.
  • I am thankful for my husband who will celebrate 5 years with me in February.
  • I am thankful for my stepdaughter who brings sanity to my life.
  • I am thankful for my daughters who bring sunshine to my life even if they create chaos.
  • I am thankful for my freedoms as an American, which hopefully will never be taken away.
  • I am thankful for my God who sent Jesus to pay for my sins.
  • I am thankful for my mother who raised me well.
  • I am thankful for my in-law's who are actually very nice and caring.
  • I am thankful for health insurance, which I will finally get tomorrow! (not Obamacare, btw)

Tearful Reunion

Today, Fed Ex delivered my beloved laptop back to me.  I am rather impressed with the service I received from ASUS.  I shipped it the Wednesday after the crash.  It arrived at ASUS in California the following Tuesday (there was a holiday in there), made it onto the workbench that same day, and was boxed back up and given to FedEx that night.  The laptop has a new hard drive so I am now having to reinstall everything and I did lost some of the pictures from earlier this year.

Without further ado, here is what has been going on:

I worked on a Mill Hill kit that I am going to send to my cousin who is recovering from surgery.

I love the colors on him, even though I'm not really a Santa person.

I also made some progress on the Nativity ornament but I do not have a picture up yet.

I found the perfect purple backing fabric at SCRAP and I used some dark green ribbon with gold accent to glue around the edge of it for a finished look.

I also won a giveaway from the Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe.  It included the chart, the floss, the bells and the buttons.  I am a bit backlogged with Christmas but I will have to get some fabric for it so I can stitch it.  I love the pattern and was really hoping to win it.

And last, I want to show how Zoé has really grown up.  Here is a picture of her modeling her new My Little Pony outfit

I also got a Cuisinart hand mixer from my husband.  I am going to try to make an angel food cake again.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Third time's the charm, right?

Mystery Beads

Today, I finished my beaded Mill Hill Santa. He turned out great! I went to put away the beads from the kit when I realized they were not the color that the chart said they were ( I already had some in that color). So now they are mystery beads. I also won a giveaway. I so miss my computer :'(

Knitting Circle

I actually made it to the knitting circle today and got a lot accomplished.

First, I was working on a scarf for my mom using Red Heart's Sassy Fabric.  I think it turned out great.

I also started two new scarves.  Not much to see yet.

I've modified how I knit with the ruffle yarn.  I found out that when you knit with needles, you skip a hole between each stitch.  I am trying that on the loom and it's definitely changed the look a bit.  I am also using only 5 stitches .  We'll see what the finished product looks like.
