Catching Fire felt like filler material, since it didn't progress the story much. Mockingjay on the other hand felt like the sequel the original book deserved; even though it was by no means perfect (Prim's death felt a bit too scripted for my likings).<br /><br />I appreciated the fact its ending wasn't written merely to cater to the expectations of an established fanbase (Breaking Dawn immediately comes to mind).
